A few days ago I watched a movie titled “Anand” (Released in 1971) and the concept of the movie stuck with me. The lines by Gulzar quoted in the movie.

Mujhsee Ek Kavita Ka Vaada Hai Milegi Mujhko .. Duubati Nabzon Mein Jab Dard Ko Nind Aane Lage Zard Saa Chehara Liy Chaand Ufak Tak Pahunche Din Abhi Paani Mein Ho Raat Kinare Ke Karib Na Abhi Andheraa Ho Na Ujalaa Ho Na Raat Na Din
Jism Jab Khatm Ho Aur Ruh Ko Saans Aae ..
Mujhse Ek Kavita Ka Vaada Hai Milegi Mujhko ..
These lines made me question the importance and relevance of human life. People get all weird and uncomfortable when death is brought into any conversation. But isn’t it the next natural thing after birth? We are born with no purpose, no societal knowledge, no limits or connotations. We are born with the desire for a stomach to feed and a bed to sleep in. Death is as beautiful as any other art piece; it holds different values to different people. The way people see it or feel it is different and unique in its way. This blog is not to glorify or romanticize the idea of death but to normalize it. I believe it’s a design to be born to grow to learn then put our body to rest. It’s a way we realize the strength of time and learn to appreciate things in life. It allows us to do things above and beyond ourselves when we know that nothing truly is ours. When I am gone I don’t want to die with regrets but satisfied with a life in which I could achieve so much. It’s an urge to everyone to follow that chain of thought while respecting others so that you could sing everyday “aaj phir jeene ki tamanna hai, aaj phir marne ka irada hai”
